HÀ NỘI — Phạm Quốc Cường won the Bình Dương Television Cycling Tournament, which ended on Tuesday.
Cường of Domesco Đồng Tháp completed his record of wearing the yellow jersey in all nine stages of the tournament, with a time of 24hr 58.11min.
He was followed by national team member, Nguyễn Minh Luận, and Trần Nguyễn Duy Nhân of the national youth squad.
It is the young athlete’s first big title of his career, which earned him a bonus of VNĐ60 million (US$2,700) in cash.
Nguyễn Minh Việt of BTV Đại Nam Bình Dương won the ninth and final stage from Kiến Đức Town of Đắk Nông Province to Thủ Dầu Một City of Bình Dương Province on 174km.
Việt and his teammate, Nguyễn Dương Hồ Vũ, and Nguyễn Đắc Thời of the national youth team separated from the whole peloton when it was nearly 10km to the finish line.
With his stronger sprints, Việt overcame the two accompanying cyclists in the last few metres and clocked 4:07.17.
Cường was 1.10min later than the top three.
The green jersey for the best athlete went to Nguyệt Minh of VUS-HCM City, while Luận claimed the white one for being the best young cyclist.
