Tuấn wins junior gold at Asian champs

Phan Văn Tuấn of Việt Nam took gold for the second day in a row after winning the men’s 800m surface at the Asian Junior Finswimming Competition yesterday in China.

HÀ NỘI — Phan Văn Tuấn of Việt Nam took gold for the second day in a row after winning the men’s 800m surface at the Asian Junior Finswimming Competition yesterday in China.

Tuấn claimed victory with a time of 6min 40.18sec, faster than Chen Po Han of Chinese Taipei (6:43.35) and Jun Seonghyun of South Korea (6:57.65).

On Monday he won his first title in the 400m bi-fins event.

The juniors from Việt Nam also won two silvers for the men’s squad in the 4x100m surface and Phạm Thị Kim Thương in the women’s 800m surface

Nguyễn Tiến Đạt took a bronze in the men’s 50m apnea and the women’s team came third in the 4x100m surface.

On Monday, Nguyễn Thành Lộc completed his hat-trick at the 16th Asian Finswimming Championship with a third gold in the men’s 50m surface with a time of 15.65sec.

Kwon Namho and Lee Dongjin of South Korea came second and third, respectively.

Phạm Đức Toàn triumphed in the men’s 400m bi-fins (3:39.51). — VNS
