HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam trounced hosts Mongolia 9-0 in their second Group I match of the AFC U16 Championship qualifier yesterday in Ulaanbatar.

Đoàn Chí Bảo scored four goals, while Võ Nguyên Hoàng, Đinh Thanh Trung, Võ Minh Đan, Quốc Hoàng and Hà Trung Hậu netted one each.

It was their second win at the tournament, following a 5-2 victory over Cambodia two days ago.

Việt Nam currently have six points and rank second on the table.

In their next match on Sunday, they will play Australia, current leader of the group after defeating Cambodia 5-0 in an earlier match yesterday.

The winner will advance to the semifinals and also qualify for the final round, which will be held in Malaysia next year. — VNS
