HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội won the top spot at the National Best Marksman Cup, held at the National Sports Training Centre in the capital city on Wednesday.
The Hanoian athletes grabbed 11 golds, three silvers and two bronzes, which helped them reach the top after two years.
Among the winners was 20-year-old Nguyễn Văn Dũng who triumphed over SEA Games silver medalist, Nguyễn Duy Hoàng of the Army, in the men’s 10m air rifle. His female teammate Bùi Thúy Thu Thủy, 15, beat her rivals, including Lê Thị Linh Chi of the Army in the 10m-air pistol. Chi had won a silver medal at the SEA Games.
The Army came second with seven golds. They participated without their best athlete, Olympic winner Hoàng Xuân Vinh, who skipped the event to focus on the World Cup in India next month.
HCM City finished third, winning two titles.
Some 150 athletes took part in the annual tournament organised by the Việt Nam Shooting Federation held between September 12 and 21. — VNS
