U18 Việt Nam team tied with Quảng Ninh Coal 1-1 on August 31 in the friendly match to warm up for the upcoming final round of the 2017 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U-18 Youth Championship.

HÀ NỘI — U18 Việt Nam drew with Quảng Ninh Coal 1-1 on August 31 in a friendly match to warm up for the upcoming 2017 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U-18 Youth Championship.

Coach Hoàng Anh Tuấn used his strongest line-up in this match with key players such as Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh, Đặng Văn Tới, Lê Văn Xuân and Liễu Quang Vinh.

However, with their experienced national premier league players who competed in the national premier league, Quảng Ninh Coal dominated the first half, Bùi Văn Hiếu opening the score from a penalty.

After the break, Hữu Thắng leveled the score for the national youth side.

Earlier, Việt Nam U18 beat Hong Kong 3-0 and tied 4-4 with FLC Thanh Hóa.

The AFF championship will take place on September 4-17 in Myanmar.

Eleven of the 12 member associations of the AFF will take part in the tournament featuring two groups of five and six teams. Việt Nam are in Group B alongside hosts Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines and Brunei. — VNS
