HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese-American Tiffany Nguyễn took the U18 girls title of the National Tennis Championships for talented young players yesterday in Sóc Trăng Province.

Tiffany of Bình Dương won 6-0, 6-2 over Huế Anh of the hosts. It was her third win in a row in the four-player round-robin event.

Thanh Trúc of HCM City came second, beating Nguyễn Thị Phương of Bắc Giang 6-0, 6-4.

In the men’s U18, Trung Tính of the Army will play Phước Đẳng of HCM City in the first semi-final match today while Minh Thịnh from Bình Dương will see Nguyên Khang, another HCM City player, in the second semi.

The national championships will continue until July 3 with finals for players of U16, U14, U12 and U10 for both boys and girls. — VNS
