HÀ NỘI — HCM City have signed a 18-month contract with striker Vũ Quang Nam of Sông Lam Nghệ An (SLNA) to prepare for the second leg of the national premier league.

Nam, 24, was the best player of the international U21 football tournament in 2012 held in Ninh Thuận.

While playing for SLNA, Nam met injury and needed three years to recover. Recently, he only played for first-division teams Phú Yên and Huế.

In this year’s football season, Nam played well and scored goals for Huế. With his impressive performance, chairman of HCM City club Lê Công Vinh agreed to sign a contract with Nam.

Nam will join his new team to play against Gangwon FC of South Korea in a friendly match at Thống Nhất Stadium in HCM City on June 9. — VNS
