HÀ NỘI — Hoàng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) will sign a contract with midfielder Henrique Marcelino Motta of Brazil for the second leg of the national premier league.

Motta will undergo a health test before the contract is inked with the football team from the central highlands region.

Twenty-six-year-old Motta, who is 1.88m tall, played for Mogi Mirim and São Bento club in Brazil’s Serie B and C tournaments. He can play well in both defence half-back and midfielder positions.

Besides Motta, HAGL will use another foreign half-back, American Mobi Fehr, in the upcoming matches. Fehr was a member of the US squad that competed in the 2011 U17 World Cup in Mexico. In the 19 matches played, he scored two goals.

Before coming to Việt Nam, Fehr played for Portland Timbers of the US and SC Sagamihara of Japan.

Motta is expected to play his first match in HAGL jersey on June 3, when they face Sài Gòn FC in the National Cup. — VNS
