HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam won two gold medals at the ongoing Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships in Kazakhstan.
Nguyễn Ngọc Minh Hy won gold in the men’s individual creative poomsae event and pair Trần Hồ Duy and Nguyễn Phan Khánh Hân won the mixed doubles’ creative poomsae event.
Also, Hân secured a silver medal in the women’s individual creative poomsae category. Duy, Hy, Trần Đăng Khoa, Nguyễn Thị Kim Hà and Lê Trần Kim Uyên bagged silver in the team’s creative poomsae.
Nguyễn Huỳnh Quốc Bảo won bronze in the men’s individual standard poomsae event. Bảo and Nguyễn Thị Hồng Trang also recieved bronze medal in the mixed doubles’ standard poomsae. Trio Hà, Uyên and Trang came in third of the women’s team of three standard poomsae.
In the combat category, 2016 world junior defending champion Hồ Thị Kim Ngân lost to Khantikulanon Jukanan of Thailand in the women’s semi-final of the 46kg category to take bronze.
Lý Hồng Phúc also won a bronze medal in the men’s 68kg after losing to a Iranian rival in the semi-final. — VNS
