Top teams to change after 12th round

It’s tight at the top of the V.League 1, with four teams leading the way on 19 points and a various changes at the top likely after the 12th round of matches this weekend.

HÀ NỘI — It’s tight at the top of the V.League 1, with four teams leading the way on 19 points and a various changes at the top likely after the 12th round of matches this weekend.

Champions Hà Nội FC currently lead the table, but are followed closely by FLC Thanh Hóa, Quảng Nam FC, and Sanna Khánh Hòa BVN, who have the same points but standing inferior goal difference.

Hà Nội face a tought task tomorrow as they travel to face Khánh Hòa.

Hà Nội have also played four matches in Group G of the AFC Cup 2017. They beat Tampines Rovers 2-1 on April 4 to top the group; however the extra fixtures may work against the capital side in the league.

Coach Võ Đình Tân of Khánh Hóa said he will use Hà Nội’s disadvantages to earn three points in the match.

In other fixtures, FLC Thanh  Hóa will visit Pleiku Stadium in the Central Highlands Province of Gia Lai as they meet Hoàng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) today.

Thanh Hóa will not key players like Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng and Ngô Hoàng Thịnh who are injured.

Coach Ljupko Petrovic of Thanh Hóa will also miss the match as he has been suspended for two matches after arguing with a referee’s decision in a match against Hà Nội FC at Hàng Đẫy Stadium on March 19.

Petrovic will also be in the stands for his side’s game against Sài Gòn FC on April 15.

After having lost in the AFC Cup, Quảng Ninh Coal will focus on domestic matters. They face basement dwellers Long An, giving the northern side a good opportunity to improve their ranking of sixth.

Elsewhere, Đà Nẵng face Becamex Bình Dương, Hải Phòng take on Cần Thơ and Sông Lam Nghệ An play HCM City. — VNS
