HÀ NỘI — Đinh Văn Linh of Hòa Bình Club won the first stage of the men’s professional category of the Dalat Victory Challenge 2017 offroad cycling tournament on Friday.
Linh finished first in the 27km stage in Lạc Dương District in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng. Trần Thanh Phú and Phùng Văn Lộc of the Military team were the runners-up.
On the women’s side, Vũ Thị Kim Lộc took the lead, followed by Trần Thị Kim Anh and Lò Thị Chuyên.
On Saturday, cyclists will compete in the 40km second stage with high slopes requiring strong technique.
Jointly organised by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Việt Nam Sports Bicycle and Motorbike Federation, and Việt Nam MTB Series, the event has attracted the participation of 130 athletes, including 18 foreigners from the US, Germany, Canada, Malaysia and Singapore.
The competition is divided into men and women categories.
Its final stage will take place at the Love Valley tourist site in Đà Lạt City on Sunday. — VNS
