HÀ NỘI — Hanoi Buffaloes failed to secure a berth in the final of the Thailand Basketball Super League after losing their third semi-final match on Wednesday in Bangkok.
The Vietnamese club were defeated 70-82 by Mono Thew of the hosts in a match that saw poor performance from all the players.
Mono Thew went ahead and led from the beginning. They did not give the Buffaloes any chance to level the score in all four quarters.
The Thai club came from behind to win 2-1 in the semi-final round.
They still have a chance to claim a bronze medal in their first international competition.
The Buffaloes will face Mad Goat in the third-place play-off match next week.
Mad Goat lost 76-99 to Mono Vampire in an all-Thailand semi-final game on Sunday. In the overall, Mad Goat were defeated 0-2.
The final match will be between Mono Vampire and Mono Thew. — VNS
