HÀ NỘI — The Vietnam Match Play and Professional Golf Championship will be organised from December 28 to 31 at BRG Ruby Tree Golf Resort with the participation of 130 golfers in Hải Phòng.

The event which is back in the national tournament system this year after five years of absence offers three categories for participants: men, women and seniors.

Golfers will take part in a qualification on December 28. Organisers will then select the top seeds and make a draw based on the qualifications.

“The number of registered players shows how competitive the tournament’s match play is. I hope golfers will perform to their best and we can pick up potential ones who will be the core of our professional series in the future,” said Phạm Thành Trí, Deputy General Secretary of the Việt Nam Golf Association.

“And we will also set up a plan to co-ordinate with the Asian Tour as soon as possible. From next year the VGA will organise four events annually. We aim to improve the quality of players,” Thành added.

The final holes of the tournament will be aired live on VTVCab channel and the live score will be available on vga.com.vn. — VNS
