Việt Nam won three silver medals and one bronze medal at the ongoing Southeast Asian Junior Table Tennis Championships' team events in Thailand.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam won three silver medals and one bronze medal at the ongoing Southeast Asian Junior Table Tennis Championships’ team events in Thailand.

Duo Nguyễn Trung Kiên and Vũ Quang Hiền lost 0-3 to a pair from Singapore in the final match of the U18 Men’s doubles event, winning the silver medal. Earlier, Kiên and Hiền defeated the defending champion pair from Thailand in the semi-final match.

The second silver went to the U18 men’s category, when the Vietnamese quartet was beaten by the Singapore team 1-4 in the final game.

The third silver was won by the Women’s U15 that also lost to Singapore in the final.

The women’s U18 squad won the bronze medal.

According to Coach Bùi Xuân Hà, his players, especially the male players, performed impressively this year, winning three times the number of silver medals they had won last year (one silver medal and five bronze medals).

The individual competitions will follow.

The championship will end on July 13. — VNS
