HA NOI - Nguyễn Thị Huyền is Việt Nam’s second track-and-field athlete to be named as a member of the Việt Nam national team to compete at the Rio Olympics this summer.
The information was confirmed by Việt Nam Chief de Mission Trần Đức Phấn at the Games, during a recent meeting with reporters in Hà Nội.
Phấn noted, “The final list for track-and-field will be released in mid-July, but Huyền will be one of the Olympians, for sure, as Olympics organisers informed me at a conference of chiefs de mission in Thailand.”
He added that the official announcement will be released soon.
Huyền reached B standards in the women’s 400m and 400m hurdle events at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore last year.
