Experts share experience of tennis training in Việt Nam’s ITF conference

Tennis experts have gathered in Đà Nẵng to take part in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Regional Coaches Conference that Việt Nam has hosted for the first time in history.

ĐÀ NẴNG — Tennis experts have gathered in Đà Nẵng to take part in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Regional Coaches Conference that Việt Nam has hosted for the first time in history.

The three-day conference, which began on September 27, is held every two years and is an important tennis event in Việt Nam this year. This event features ITF officials and as many as 200 coaches from 27 countries such as India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Over a dozen leading international speakers from 11 countries, including Dario Novak (Croatia), Simone Bertino (Italy), David Taylor and Annabel Taylor (Australia) and Riaan Kruger and Jonathan Stubbs (ITF) are also attending the event.

Different discussion sessions will focus on important issues in tennis, including technical and tactical developments.

The speakers will talk about the application of advanced technology in training as well as psychological methods applied during training and competition.

According to organisers, the conference is an opportunity for coaches to exchange and improve their skills while experts share experiences and update the latest coaching trends and knowledge.

The event also highlights the important role of international cooperation in professional training activities and the comprehensive development of tennis between countries.

After the conference, coaches will receive certificates from ITF.

Jonathan Stubbs, ITF Development Officer for the South, South East and East Asia, said updating knowledge and sharing experiences from participants would help improve the level of training and strengthen diplomatic relations between countries as well as connecting coaches in the Asian tennis community.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Việt Nam Tennis Federation Nguyễn Quốc Kỳ said: "This is a great opportunity for Việt Nam to introduce the image of friendly Vietnamese people and promote the charming beauty of the coastal city of Đà Nẵng to international people." VNS
