HÀ NỘI -- The Northside Pro-Am Basketball Championship 2024 Brought by VNPAY will be kicked off in Hà Nội with the participation of 16 teams on July 21.

In its 10th edition, the tournament saw a record number of participants that the organisers had to hold a play-in event in which 11 teams had to combat against each other.

After thrilling matches earlier this month, four best ones -- Hà Nam, Vĩnh Phúc, Phú Thọ and Cao Bằng -- advance to the play-off round where they join 12 strong rivals who are the championship's veterans.

After a draw conducted on July 17, teams are divided into four groups competing in round robin format.

The top two of each group will qualify for the knockout stage. The final is scheduled on July 30 at the Cầu Giấy Gymnasium.

The organisers will deliver a total of VNĐ200 million for the high-ranking clubs while the MVP will also walk away with big bonus.

Last year, Hà Nội beat Thanh Hoá 87-56 to top the podium.

The tournament is co-organised by New Sports and VTVcab under the support of the Hà Nội Culture and Sports Department.

All matches will be live aired on VTVcab platforms (ON Sports; App: ON Plus, ON, Facebook: ON Sports; Youtube: ON Bóng rổ) while doors are open free for supporters to cheer their beloved clubs at the gymnasium. VNS
