HÀ NỘI — South Korean Song Chan-ho defended his title while Vietnamese Nguyễn Văn Hải scored a shocking win at the WBO Youth Title Match Chapter 3: The Rising Star on April 22 in Vũng Tàu.

After establishing his domination from the beginning, Song landed a strong punch to the face of his Thai rival Poramin Saengpak. Saengpak was floored and could not stand up before the referee counted to 10.

It was Song's 12th win in 12 matches. He has defended his super lightweight belt three times.

Earlier, Hải beat Chinese former champion Su Xiao Tao by a split decision in the men's super flyweight division.

While Su tried to get closer to beat Hải, the host athlete responded with his accurate hooks and jabs while moved quickly and avoiding punches.

Both received heavy punches that forced them to lose their balance in the second and third rounds.

Finally, Hải was declared the winner, raising his record to five wins and one loss in his pro boxing career.
