HƯNG YÊN — Hà Nội secured the last ticket to the National U17 Football Championship on March 14 after beating Hoàng Anh Gia Lai 1-0.
The only goal of the match went to Phú Quý whose smart header easily found the net at the 71st minute.
With five points after one win and two draws, Hà Nội placed second in Group A behind host PVF, which had nine points and already qualified.
Earlier in this group, PVF beat SHB Đà Nẵng 3-1.
Nguyễn Lê Phát scored a double after Nguyễn Hoàng Anh netted from a spot kick for the defending champion. Bùi Nhật Anh narrowed the gap for Đà Nẵng with a goal from a set piece three minutes to the interval.
Đà Nẵng placed third and also qualified for the quarter-finals.
In Group B, Khánh Hòa beat Đồng Tháp 2-0 and Huế lost 2-0 to Sông Lam Nghệ An.
After three games, Nghệ An, Huế and Khánh Hòa were the top three and advanced to the knock-out stage.
In Group C, Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh trounced JCM City 3-0 to take their first win at the tournament, the Thái Sơn Nam Cup.
Viettel defeated Bình Phước 2-1 to strengthen their top spot.
The three qualified teams were Viettel, Hà Tĩnh and Bình Phước.
The quarter-finals will be organised on March 17.
