HÀ NỘI — Phong Phú Hà Nam secured a big win at the National Girls' U16 Football Championship on March 2, trouncing HCM City 6-0 to maintain its top position at the Việt Nam Youth Football Centre.

Y Za Lương secured her hat trick in the first half of the match with the first one scored just four minutes after the first whistle.

Two other goals were at the 30th and 34th minutes.

Sandwiched between her goals was a goal by Đèo Ky Chun at the 20th minute mark.

Coach Trần Lệ Thủy slowed down her team in the second half as she wanted to save their energy for the next match on March 5.

However, Ngân Thị Thanh Hiếu and Nguyễn Thị Minh Ánh continued scoring at the 55th and 61st minutes, respectively.

Hà Nam not only has three points more than second-placed Hà Nội but also a better goal difference after beating HCM City.

In the earlier match, Hà Nội beat Thái Nguyên T&T 2-0 with Hà Huyền Mai and Trương Thị Hoài Trinh scoring in different halves.

Thái Nguyên defender Đặng Thị Phương Thảo made a hand ball and the referee gave a penalty for Hà Nội. Mai did not make any mistake to open the scoring during additional time of the first half.

Hà Nội pushed the attack in the second half seeking a second goal and they made it at the 63rd minute.

From a counterattack, Ngọc Ánh gave a perfect ball in the box and Trinh easily tapped it in to score.

Hà Nội still has a chance to win the championship if they win the last match against HCM City with at least four goals while Hà Nam loses to Thái Nguyên. VNS
