HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) will cooperate with Borussia Dortmund (BVB) in football projects including a friendly match with the national team next month.

In the meeting, representatives discussed youth football training programmes, plans to develop women’s football and professional club management.

“BVB will send experienced experts to work with VFF in different activities including organising the friendly match. We will have further talks to explore potential effective projects in the future,” VFF Vice President Cao Văn Chóng said.

He added that the friendly match will be a chance for Việt Nam to test their best formation before the regional AFF Cup in December.

Meanwhile, BVB’s Head of International & New Business Benedikt Scholz confirmed a long-term and stable partnership with the VFF. The best players of the Bundesliga side would visit Việt Nam as club managers and players cannot wait to learn more about Việt Nam’s people and culture.

Scholz invited the national team and talented players to practise at BVB’s training centres and academies and have friendly matches in Germany in 2023.

BVB’s representatives inspected national Mỹ Đình Stadium on October 18 and wanted the Vietnamese side to improve the quality of the field's grass and the stadium's hygiene while the dressing room must be decorated with BVB's brand name. The match will be held on November 30 and further information will be released at a press conference next week. VNS
