HCM City is working on a COVID-19 vaccination plan for consular officers and foreigners in the city.

The HCM City health sector has proposed reducing the time of hospitalisation for  COVID-19 patients who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms to ten days to reduce hospital overcrowding amid the surging number of cases in the city.

Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam has asked the Ministry of Health (MoH) to draft a plan on the establishment of a national vaccine institute and a research centre for vaccine technology transfer on the basis of re-organising the ministry's existing research facilities. 

More than 20 hotels in HCM City are offering free accommodations and meals for frontline doctors and other medical staff fighting the pandemic.

HCM City’s Department of Industry and Trade has announced a list of 40 traditional markets being opened on social distancing days to facilitate local residents in daily shopping.
