A total of 300 local COVID-19 cases were reported on Sunday in nine localities, the Ministry of Health announced.

The vaccine, with the product name Vero Cell, will be given to Chinese nationals living in Việt Nam, Vietnamese people who intend to go to work or study in China and residents in the border region with China.

Two more people have died of COVID-19 complications, taking the death toll in Việt Nam since the beginning of the pandemic to 66.

New data from Public Health England (PHE) has demonstrated that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine offers high levels of protection against the Delta variant (or B.1.617.2, formerly known as the Indian variant), AstraZeneca has said.
