HÀ NỘI - Phenikaa Group has donated VNĐ21 billion (more than US$900,000) to the national COVID-19 vaccine fund in a response to Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s appeal.

The donation is part of the group's efforts to show its gratitude to the Government and the healthcare sector for their dedication to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Việt Nam, Phenikaa Group has concentrated on researching and developing products and applications to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

They include the COVID-19 map that has been used in several localities such as Hải Dương, Bắc Giang, Đà Nẵng and Quảng Ninh. The map helps users track the number of patients, their locations, isolation areas and hospitals visually.

In addition, the firm has made disinfection robots that have been sent to the field hospital No 2 in Bắc Giang Province to support doctors and people in disinfection work.

Việt Nam aims to secure 150 million doses of vaccines to immunise 75 million of its population this year, and the cost is estimated at VNĐ25.2 trillion. The Government is expected to provide VNĐ16 trillion and localities nationwide as well as private sources will make up the rest. — VNS
