Total of 214 new COVID-19 cases recorded on Monday

Việt Nam reported 214 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 211 community cases and three imported cases who were quarantined upon arrival.

HÀ NỘI - Việt Nam reported 214 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 211 community cases and three imported cases who were quarantined upon arrival.

The outbreak in northern province Bắc Giang continued to increase in size with 134 cases, while Bắc Ninh had 38 cases and the capital city Hà Nội recorded 28 cases.

The other localities that reported community cases were Lạng Sơn (3), Bình Dương (3), Long An (2), Đắk Lắk (1), Đà Nẵng (1) and Trà Vinh (1).

The majority of cases were workers in industrial parks who were already in quarantine in Bắc Giang and Bắc Ninh. 

The three cases in Bình Dương Province, related to a newly detected cluster, were also already in quarantine.

On the bright side, the 12 provinces of Yên Bái, Quảng Ngãi, Đồng Nai, Nghệ An, Quảng Ninh, Quảng Nam, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên Huế, Đắk Lắk, Nam Định, Hòa Bình and Tuyên Quang have not had a community case for 12 days.

A total of 80 COVID-19 patients were announced recovered today, including 36 who were released from hospital in Bắc Giang after testing negative multiple times.

In addition, nine patients in critical condition have shown signs of improvement and no longer require ventilators. 

Health authorities have collected more than 1.3 million samples and tested some 2.4 million people since the beginning of May. VNS
