HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Tuesday signed a resolution to speed up the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines.

Under the resolution, the Government assigned the Ministry of Health (MoH) to urgently organise the purchase of vaccines as quickly as possible so the vaccination campaign can be carried out on a large scale.

PM Chính has repeatedly emphasised that amid the new developments of the pandemic, prevention and control should also change, combining harmoniously, rationally and effectively between prevention and control, dodge and attack.

The PM requested the MoH to accelerate the access to purchase and import vaccines, receive technology transfer, speed up domestic vaccine research and production, and organise an effective vaccination programme.

With a shortage of vaccines for COVID-19 around the world, to soon have a vaccine for the people, the Government requested the MoH and other ministries uphold their sense of responsibility for the people's health, public health and the interests of the nation to get the vaccine as soon as possible.

This is an urgent situation, so the purchase of vaccines must be handled in accordance with the law on special and urgent cases and must be done immediately. — VNS
