CENTRAL REGION — The Đà Nẵng City People’s Committee officially reopened the Đống Đa market – near New Phương Đông Bar, a COVID-19 infection hotspot, from Sunday after mass tests of people nearby were negative for SARS-COV-2.

All shops in the market can resume sales, but strict control activities such as face masks, disinfection, body temperature measurement and safe distance were required.

Meanwhile, each household in the city was given tickets for market entrance every two days to reduce mass gatherings at public sites. Supermarkets and other necessary services are still open with safe preventive manners.

Public bus routes, taxis and touring vehicles travelling between Thừa Thiên Huế and Đà Nẵng had their operation stopped from Sunday morning.

Neighbouring Thừa Thiên Huế Province said it was tracing for close contact cases related to a SARS-COV-2 positive case (patient No 3,131) from a beauty salon in downtown Đà Nẵng on May 6. At least 101 people who had close contact with patient No 3,131 have been isolated for tests.

Phong Điền District has set up an inspection checkpoint to test people travelling through the district on the roads.

Quảng Nam Province has also halted all mass activities and entertainment services in Điện Bàn Town and Đại Lộc and Núi Thành districts after a positive case (patient No 3,230) was found in mountainous Nông Sơn District on May 7.
