VĨNH LONG — The Department of Health in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long has been working with the HCM City Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and local healthcare centres to identify and find five F1 cases (people who have had close contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases) and contacts of the five people.

Văn Công Minh, director of the provincial Department of Health, said on Friday that contact tracing began soon after the department was informed that five people in the province had close contact with a number of COVID-confirmed cases that had been announced the previous day by the Ministry of Health.

Three of five of the F1 people have been found and are now under centralised quarantine. The contacts of these three people are undergoing medical observation, Minh said.

The provincial authorities are also co-operating with HCM City’s CDC to trace the other two F1 people to find their current location so that timely solutions can be implemented.

Earlier, the People's Committee of Vĩnh Long Province sent an official dispatch to relevant units about COVID-19 prevention. The provincial People's Committee told all of its agencies, departments and sectors to focus on the prevention and control of COVID-19 in a timely manner.

All local departments and authorities in the province are required to conduct strict management of migration activities so that officials can receive exact information about people returning from areas that have COVID-positive cases. — VNS
