A nationwide campaign has been launched to raise funds for poor households and flood victims in the central region.

The funeral ceremony for the 13 officers and soldiers who were killed by a landslide in Thừa Thiên Huế Province took place this morning in the central province. 

Twenty two military personal and officials are missing after a landslide engulfed their base in the mountainous area of Quảng Trị Province last night. 

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has spoken of his heartache after 13 rescue workers died trying to save people trapped after landslides hit Thừa Thiên-Huế Province in Central Vietnam.
