No new cases reported on Tuesday, VN goes 13 straight days without community infection

Việt Nam has gone 13 straight days without community COVID-19 infections on Tuesday as no new cases was reported while five more patients were given the all-clear, the National Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced on Tuesday evening.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam has gone 13 straight days without community COVID-19 infections on Tuesday as no new cases were reported while five more patients were given the all-clear, the National Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced on Tuesday evening.

The recovery cases are four patients treated at Đà Nẵng Lung Hospital and another treated at Quảng Nam Province General Hospital.

With the five recoveries, the total number of patients recovering from COVID-19 reached 931 out of total 1,063 confirmed cases.

 Of the total, 691 are domestically-transmitted cases, including 551 linked to central Đà Nẵng City where the latest coronavirus outbreak began on July 25.

As reported earlier, 35 COVID-19 patients in Việt Nam died from complications related to the disease. Most of the fatalities were the elderly with serious underlying health conditions.

Of the active cases, 16 have tested negative for the virus once, 12 others twice and 18 three times.

There are 32,578 people who had close contact with confirmed cases or came from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine at present, including 459 in hospitals, 15,890 in other quarantine sites and 16,229 at home or accommodation facilities. — VNS
