HCM CITY – The Đồng Tháp Province People's Committee plans to allocate more than VNĐ 1.5 billion (US$64,630) next year for a programme to train human resources for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Some 1,4000 participants will receive training in starting up businesses, business administration and public administration for supporting SMEs, according to the committee.
The programme will also train 21,500 workers at SMEs involved in production and processing.
To ensure good results, the People's Committee has directed the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to co-ordinate with relevant units and SMEs.
Besides improving the quality of human resources, Đồng Tháp is also seeking to push ahead with e-commerce development.
E-commerce is an effective tool for SMEs in rural areas since they do not need to invest in stores and distribution systems, but many entrepreneurs in the delta region have not grasped or fully exploited its advantages and remain focused on traditional sales channels, experts said.
To help local businesses better understand the rules and procedures for selling on Tiki, one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Việt Nam, Nguyễn Chí Hùng, its training manager, said that Tiki will train about registration procedures, effective sales processes and special support for Đồng Tháp enterprises in designing booths and posting products on the website. – VNS
