HÀ NỘI — The number of COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam topped 600 after 30 new patients were announced on Sunday evening, including four children aged between seven and 14.
The total number of positive patients in Việt Nam now stands at 620, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The 30 new cases include one person who returned Việt Nam from the US on July 30 on flight VN319 via Cam Ranh Airport in southern Khánh Hoà Province. She was quarantined upon arrival and is being treated at Khánh Hoà Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
The remaining cases are community transmitted, including 16 patients in Đà Nẵng City who tested positive for the virus as part of the city’s campaign to carry out quick tests for local citizens after more cases were reported in the city.
Nine cases were in central Quảng Nam Province, two in the Central Highlands' Đắk Lắk Province, one in southern Đồng Nai Province and one in northern Hà Nam Province, all either patients or family members taking care of patients at hospitals in Đà Nẵng, those who visited and worked in the central city or family members of COVID-19 patients. — VNS
