Four new cases of COVID-19 reported on Wednesday evening

Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday evening, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 450.

HÀ NỘI — Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday evening, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 450.

The 447th patient is a 23-year-old young man living in Hà Nội’s Nam Từ Liêm District. From July 12 to 15, he travelled to Đà Nẵng with his family. On July 23, the patient reported a fever, cough and tiredness. From July 25 to 28, he quarantined at home. On the afternoon of July 28, he went to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases for examination. He tested positive for COVID-19 on July 29.

The 448th case is a 21-year-old female student living in Ea Tiêu Commune of the Tây Nguyên (Central Highland) province of Đắk Lắk’s Cư Kuin District. From June 22 to July 17, she was working at the nursing ward of Đà Nẵng General Hospital. On July 20, she suffered a fever and sore throat. On July 27, she was treated at the Tây Nguyên region General Hospital located in Đắk Lắk Province’s Buôn Ma Thuột City. She tested positive for COVID-19 on July 29.

The 449th case is a 57-year-old male patient who had American citizenship and was living in Hòa Khánh Bắc Ward of Liên Chiểu District, Đà Nẵng. On July 6, he suffered a fever, cough, shortness of breath and aches. He started treatment at Đà Nẵng City’s Hoàn Mỹ Hospital.

From July 6 to 19, he was transferred to Đã Nẵng General Hospital. On July 20, he was transferred to HCM City’s Chợ Rẫy Hospital. From July 21 to 27, he was moved to HCM City International Hospital.

The 450th case is a 46-year-old woman who was a caregiver of the 449th patient. On July 26, she had symptoms of a runny nose and fatigue.

On July 27, samples of the two above cases were sent to the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the result on July 28 showed both were positive for SARS-CoV-2.

The number of community transmission cases confirmed on Wednesday evening since July 25 was 34.

No deaths have been recorded in the country so far. — VNS
