Two new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Sunday evening bringing the total number of community infections linked to Đà Nẵng to four in the past two days.

The central city will start social distancing measures from 1pm on July 26 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 after two men tested positive for the virus over the weekend.

The latest patient to be infected with COVID-19 through a community transmission has not travelled out of his home city for a month, and has had no contact with any foreigners.

An event was held in Hà Nội on Saturday to express gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers nationwide, which was among the activities marking the 73rd War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27).

A 61-year-old man in Đà Nẵng has tested positive for COVID-19 – the second community transmission confirmed in the central city in the past two days.

Relevant agencies of Việt Nam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada, and the Vietnam Airlines on July 25 coordinated with Canadian competent agencies to bring home more than 340 Vietnamese citizens from the country.
