Second community COVID-19 transmission discovered in Đà Nẵng

A 61-year-old man in Đà Nẵng has tested positive for COVID-19 – the second community transmission confirmed in the central city in the past two days.

ĐÀ NẴNG — A 61-year-old man in Đà Nẵng has tested positive for COVID-19 – the second community transmission confirmed in the central city in the past two days.

Officials say the man lives in Thanh Bình Ward, Hải Châu District, and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on Saturday night, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 418.

The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control’s report on Sunday morning said he is being treated in intensive care at Đà Nẵng Hospital.

The man is currently breathing with the aid of a ventilator, the committee added.

Officials are tracing people who he had recently been in contact with to investigate their health and quarantine if necessary.

The Ministry of Health has established three task force teams to support the city administration in prevention and control of COVID-19. —  VNS
