ĐÀ NẴNG — One new case of COVID-19 in Việt Nam was reported on Saturday evening, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 417.

The five-year-old patient was on flight VN5062 to Việt Nam from Russia landing at Cần Thơ Airport on July 9 and was quarantined immediately after entry.

Her samples were taken on July 10 and July 17 and came back negative. On July 24, her third sample was sent to Pasteur Institute in HCM City and came back positive on July 25.

She is now being treated at Bạc Liêu General Hospital.

The 416th patient, who is a 57-year-old man living in Liên Chiểu District, Đà Nẵng City, is now on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation).

Over 240 citizens brought home from Singapore

Relevant agencies of Việt Nam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and Vietjet Air on July 25 coordinated with competent Singaporean agencies to bring home over 240 Vietnamese citizens from the country.

To ensure the safety of the passengers and crew and prevent the spread of COVID-19, the carrier strictly implemented security, safety, and hygiene measures during the flight.

After landing at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport in HCM City, all passengers and crew members had their health checked and were taken to a concentrated quarantine centre, in line with Việt Nam’s regulations.
