HÀ NỘI — A total of 350 Vietnamese citizens have arrived home on a repatriation flight from Australia.

The passengers, made up mainly children, the elderly, pregnant women and those with visa problems, touched down at Hà Nội’s Nội Bài International Airport on Monday evening.

Those on board, including the crew, were given health checks upon landing before being quarantined under regulations.

The flight was arranged by the authorities in both Việt Nam and Australia, along with the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines.

Officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia were on hand at Sydney International Airport to help the citizens before boarding their flight. Preventative health measures, including mandated wearing of face masks and protective suits, were taken during the flight.

Under the Prime Minister’s instruction, Vietnamese authorities and representative offices abroad will continue conducting more flights to bring Vietnamese citizens home in the coming time, based on the citizens’ aspirations and quarantine capacity in localities. — VNS
