ĐẮK NÔNG — Five people have died and five others injured after a lorry smash in Đắk R’la Commune, Đắk Mil District on Saturday morning.
The driver of the fertiliser truck, 27-year-old Ngô Văn Bền, lost control of the vehicle and hit nine motorcycles and a trailer. The truck then hit four more motorcycles on the side of the road before flipping over.
Three people died at the scene and two others died on their way to hospital. A number of properties were seriously damaged after the smash in the Central Highlands province of Đắk Nông.
The injured victims are being treated at the Central Highlands Region General Hospital. Three of them are in critical condition.
Driver Ngô Văn Bền admitted to the police that his brakes failed. Đắk Nông Police are conducting further investigation. — VNS
