HÀ NỘI — One more patient with COVID-19 recovered and was discharged from the Lung Hospital in Đồng Nai Province on Friday, bringing the country’s total cases being given the all-clear to 225.
The remaining 43 COVID-19 patients are being treated in six medical facilities across the country.
The recovered patient, Patient 247, a 28-year-old Vietnamese male, lives in Ward 1, Bình Thạnh District, HCM City. He works as a production line manager at Gia Định Shoes Co Ltd in the southern province of Đồng Nai.
He is a colleague of and had close contact with the 124th and 151st patients, two Brazilian expats who were connected to the city’s Buddha Bar hotspot. He tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on April 6 and then was admitted to Đồng Nai Lung Hospital for treatment on the same day.
During treatment, the patient was tested many times and the latest test results came back negative for SARS-CoV-2 from April 19 to 23. Currently, he has no fever, no cough, no breathing difficulties and is in a stable condition.
The patient will continue to be isolated and monitored for the next 14 days, according to the Sub-Committee for Treatment and National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
As of Friday Morning, the Ministry of Health reported no new COVID-19 cases and no fatalities over the past eight days. Việt Nam reported a total of 268 cases of COVID-19, of which 160 people returned from abroad (59.7 per cent) and 108 people were infected in the community (40.3 per cent). — VNS
