HCM City quarantine area sets up dialysis room, first of it kind

The District 2 Hospital in HCM City has set up a dialysis room in its coronavirus quarantine area, the first of its kind in the city.

HCM CITY — The District 2 Hospital in HCM City has set up a dialysis room in its coronavirus quarantine area, the first of its kind in the city.

P.T.T.V, who lives at Masteri Thảo Điền in the district and is quarantined because there are COVID patients in the apartment building, said she no longer has to worry about her dialysis.

She had been going to Hoàn Mỹ Sài Gòn Hospital in Phú Nhuận District for dialysis, but not since being quarantined on March 22 the hospital does not have isolation facilities for people undergoing dialysis. 

Hearing about the new dialysis room in the quarantine area, she contacted the staff, and is since being taken there by a vehicle from the area for dialysis twice a week.

“I feel secure about dialysis here,” she said.

The room has two mobile reverse osmosis water filter systems, four dialysis machines, two doctors, and four nurses, adequate to take care of 16- 20 patients a day.

It gets quarantined patients who were going to the Thủ Đức District Hospital, An Sinh Hospital, Hoàn Mỹ Sài Gòn Hospital and others, Dr Phan Minh Hoàng, deputy director of the hospital, said. — VNS
