QUẢNG NGÃI — The Cửa Đại Bridge spanning the Trà Khúc River was completed on Tuesday in Quảng Ngãi City, the central province of Quảng Ngãi.

The bridge was constructed four months ahead of the schedule.

To finish early, the investor and contractor of the project assigned about 500 workers to ensure work was being done round the clock.

The bridge is more than 1.8km in length and 85m in width.

The project has total investment of more than VNĐ2.2 trillion (US$97.2 million) with funding from Government bonds and Quảng Ngãi's budget.

Director of the Quảng Ngãi Department of Transport Hà Hoàng Việt Phương said the bridge was an important construction project for the province.

It would not only help the province’s urban areas, but also drive overall socio-economic development. — VNS
