Việt Nam, US cooperate in combating transnational drug trafficking

HÀ NỘI — Acting Administrator of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Uttam Dhillon has been working with relevant Vietnamese agencies to fight transnational drug trafficking.

According to the US Embassy in Việt Nam, during his recent working visit to Vietnam, Dhillon met with Minister of Public Security General Tô Lâm and Lieutenant-General Phạm Văn Các, General Director of the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes.

Dhillon recognised the importance of the strategic relationship between the DEA and Việt Nam’s Ministry of Public Security.

He reaffirmed that the DEA would continue to collaborate with its partners in Việt Nam to strengthen the ministry’s efforts in combating transnational drug trafficking. — VNS
