HÀ NỘI — Three people have died and more than 30 others injured after two separate road crashes early Wednesday morning.

In the south-central province of Khánh Hòa, one person was killed and at least 24 others injured after two sleeper buses collided in early morning.

The accident happened when a bus travelling from the province’s Nha Trang City to Phú Yên Province, hit another bus travelling in the opposite direction at 2am.

Officials say the crash happened between Võ Nguyên Giáp Street and a section of the National Highway No 1.

The top decks of both buses were severely damaged and residents living nearby helped ferry the injured passengers to Diên Khánh District’s General Hospital and Khánh Hòa Province’s General Hospital.

A witness said the accident might be due to poor visibility and low lighting on the road at the time.

One of those injured, Huỳnh Nho Tài, said: “I’m still in shock, I think I could not travel by bus from now on.”

The coach was seriously damaged after the crash, while the driver plus a female passenger were both killed.
