First provincial geriatrics hospital to be built in Quảng Ninh

QUẢNG NINH — Construction work on the Quảng Ninh Geriatrics Hospital, the country's first of its kind at the provincial level, started on Monday in the northern city of Hạ Long.

The costs of the 200-bed hospital are estimated at VNĐ429 billion (US$18,650), with the provincial Department of Health being the main investor.

Covering more than four hectares, the facility will have wards for medical examination, diagnostic imaging, testing, physiotherapy, treatment and rehabilitation.

The hospital will be built towards environmental-friendly model to ensure the best atmosphere for the elderly.

The construction is scheduled to be completed in 2020 and the hospital will open the following year.

Currently, there are 25,000 old people in Quảng Ninh Province that need professional treatment. — VNS
