TÂY NINH  — A serious accident occurred at about 6am on Friday on Highway 22 in Trảng Bàng District, the southern province of Tây Ninh, between a truck and a car, leaving five people dead, including one child.

The five victims included the car's four passengers and driver.

Nguyễn Văn Lam, deputy chairman of Trảng Bàng District People’s Committee, visited the scene and directed rescue efforts.

According to initial reports from witnesses, the truck travelling in the direction of Củ Chi-Tràng Bảng suffered a blowout and hit a car travelling in the opposite direction.

Rescue work is underway and police are investigating. — VNS
