BÌNH DƯƠNG — An accident at a construction site in southern Bình Dương Province has killed one worker and injured two others, reported online newspaper vietnamplus.vn.

The accident occurred yesterday at the construction site of a 2,000sq.m warehouse belonging to Ta Hsing Electric Wire & Cable Company in Thủ Dầu Một City in the province.

According to witnesses, the steel frame of the warehouse began to shake and then suddenly collapsed.

The falling steel frame, weighing tonnes, killed worker Siu Huk, 16, from Gia Lai Province, and injured Phạm Văn Nguyên, 27, and Trương Công Kỳ, 31, both from Thanh Hoá Province.

The two men were hospitalised in Bình Dương Province’s General Hospital. Nguyên is still at the hospital with a serious wound.

The warehouse was expected to be put into use in August.

The provincial authority is continuing its investigation of the accident. — VNS
