BÀ RỊA – VŨNG TÀU – Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu Province Border Guard early this week seized two ships carrying diesel oil of unknown origin, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
On Tuesday, the force announced it had taken hold of nearly 300,000 litres of diesel oil following the inspection of a tanker numbered BV 97979 TS, captained by 49-year-old Nguyễn Trọng Chí from Kiên Giang Province.
The ship was anchored at Hà Lộc Port, District 11, Vũng Tàu City for further investigation while oil samples were sent to Vinacontrol for quality checks.
Earlier on Sunday, the force stopped a fishing boat numbered TG 93518 TS which was operated by Trần Hữu Tân from Tiền Giang Province and seized about 20,000 liters of diesel oil.
The captain received a fine and his vehicle was docked at Côn Đảo Island for further investigation. – VNS
