One gets death sentence for drug trafficking

HÒA BÌNH — Hòa Bình People’s Court has sentenced one man to death on charges of drug trafficking.

The death penalty was handed down to Hà Công Khánh, 36, from Tân Sơn Commune, Mai Châu District.

According to indictment, Khánh set up a drug trafficking ring to transport narcotics from Hòa Bình and Sơn La provinces to Hà Nội and Hải Phòng for distribution from June 2008 to August 2009, moving 85 bricks of heroin (nearly 30kg).

Police arrested and charged Khánh’s accomplices in different cases.

Khánh fled and was sent a wanted warrant by the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Department.

On December 26, 2017, he was caught while transporting one cake of heroin. VNS
