Railway sector readies extra trains for holiday

HÀ NỘI — The railway sector will operate dozens more trains to serve demand during the Hùng Kings’ Festival, which will fall on April 13-15.

Under the plan, the Hà Nội Railway Transport Joint-stock Company will run eight extra trains on the Hà Nội–Sài Gòn route with a total of about 5,200 more seats.

The company will have two more trains from Hà Nội to Vinh City and one more train from Hà Nội to Đồng Hới City on April 12. One extra train from Hà Nội to Thanh Hóa will be arranged on the next day. On April 15, there will be one additional train from Đồng Hới City to Hà Nội, two from Vinh to Hà Nội and one from Thanh Hóa City to Hà Nội.

The company will maintain its usual 12 trains per day along the routes of Hà Nội–Lào Cai, Hà Nội–Hải Phòng, Hà Nội–Đồng Đăng, Hà Nội–Quán Triều and Yên Viên–Hạ Long. All of the trains have the maximum number of carriages, equal to about 10,000 seats.

In the meantime, the Sài Gòn Railway Transport Joint-stock Company will have eight extra trains along the Sài Gòn–Nha Trang route during the festival. — VNS
