HCM City imposes fines on illegal pharmacies, health clinics

The HCM City People’s Committee has imposed fines on a number of pharmacies and health clinics for violations of health care regulations.

 HCM City —  The HCM City People’s Committee has imposed fines on many pharmacies and health clinics for their violations of health care regulations.

The city’s health inspectors fined a clinic owned by Lê Trần Thảo at 68 No37 Street in District 7 a total of VNĐ100million (US$4,314) for offering medical examinations and treatment without a medical examination licence.

A pharmacy store owned by Nguyễn Tuấn Quang at 26 Nơ Trang Long Street in Bình Thạnh District was fined VNĐ46 million (US$1,984) for selling medicines of unknown origin.

In addition, the city’s health inspectors fined Tân Hưng General Hospital at 87 Trần Xuân Soạn in District 7 VNĐ100 million for providing medical examinations and treatment beyond what was permitted in its licence.—VNS
